In Memory of Fran Whittin, CLU

Fran doing show entries…with helper.
It is with sincerest sadness
that I inform you that Fran passed away, Friday evening, July 23, 2004 from
complications due to lung cancer. She requested that no one be told during the
period that she underwent treatment. She found out officially about two weeks
before the show, as she was suffering from complications of Bronchitis. She
worked, as usual, right up to the very end when she was too weak to finish the
show entries.
I was
privileged to be gifted the opportunity to speak with her and thank her for all
her efforts during phone calls, when she could barely speak. Those shared
moments are a treasure to me now.
We are
truly saddened by her loss as Fran was our Show Secretary, and Genetics
Committee Member for over a decade. Each year Fran took her vacation over the
entry closing date for the TCA shows to allow her to respond to the rush of
entries that typically occurred just prior to the closing date. As Show
Secretary she forfeited her chance to show her own cats, revealing her sacrifice
for others. As a Charter Member of TCA, Inc. she has admirably served as Vice
President, and Board Member as well. Whenever there was a need Fran was
unfailingly there to work as hard as she could to help TCA, INC and our members.
As our eternal friend, it will be difficult to imagine doing things without her.
Her
husband, Johnny, commented on how she loved to be involved with Protecting and
Preserving the Traditional Siamese, and she has surely demonstrated her
dedication and commitment to the very end.
We
extend our warm regards and deepest sympathy to her family and all who knew her
in honor of her memory. Our love and our tears are theirs. Fran left us way too
soon.
You are
most welcome to send your expressions of sympathy to the following address and
we will forward them.

THE
BROKEN CHAIN
We
little knew the evening,
when God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly.
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories.
Your love is still our guide.
And though we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.
Our friendship chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
